Eating inbetween flowers-Petersham Nurseries

We decided it was time for a best friends’ afternoon luncheon out around London, so the Chicks with Suitcases made their way to Richmond for some delicious food in the wonderfully enchanted Petersham Nurseries restaurant/café (http://petershamnurseries.com/). A restaurant and a café in a flower nursery. Eating here is like eating in a flower jungle-magical! Have you ever wanted to eat between flowers?

Entering the world of Petersham Nurseries

The inside of the restaurant

Petersham Nurseries’ food is locally sourced, organic and seasonal food, they are part of the slow-food movement. The menu changes frequently so we cannot make specific meal recommendations, but so far everything we have eaten at this charming place has been delicious (and the sourdough bread they serve absolutely amazing…As we both grew up in Germany we do see ourselves as bread connoisseurs and experts). The restaurant serves lunches with starters, mains and desert and the café (teahouse) serves buffet style lighter options as well as cakes. The teahouse is the more economical option and food is great in both. The staff are exceptionally friendly and forthcoming. Sitting and eating surrounded by flowers creates a magical atmosphere.

The magical kingdom of the Petersham Nurseries is always a good idea!! We certainly enjoyed our girls day out and are looking forward to going back for more food J As Richmond Park is right next to Petersham Nurseries, it can be combined with a lovely stroll after the meal (if the weather is good). Still not sure whether to go or not? We say: YES! GO!
